My husband and I enjoy conversation in the early mornings before our children wake up. This morning, I came upstairs after spending my time alone with Jesus to be with my husband. I had some news to share with him from my prayer time, and I was excited to talk to him. Both of us had another stressful week and we were in need of conversation.
I told him about my prayer to Jesus for restoration and renewal. I told him how my devotional had been about the Good Shepherd being a Keeper and a Restorer of the Soul and how after praying this pray to God and as I often do, reminding God of His promises to us, God directed me to Isaiah 55.
My husband loves Isaiah 55, it's a chapter that he memorized a few years back. This morning, as I read through the chapter, I could understand why God was bringing me to this chapter today. In verse 8 it says this: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways." declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts higher than your thoughts."
In verse 11, I read this "So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They'll do the work I sent them to do, they'll complete the assignment I gave them."
As I read this chapter to my husband this morning, we both sighed. Our conversation drifted to the trials our life has encountered and my husband commented that he feels like we are at The Tipping Point!
The Tipping Point---and I know that God's Word is true and I will not be empty handed. I know that God's Word is true and both my husband and I will do the work HE sent us to do, complete and whole. I know that my thoughts and my ways are not HIS ways or HIS thoughts, He has a plan and He will complete that plan in me, in HIS time. The Tipping Point, is going to tip HIS way. Isaiah 55 ends like this: "So you'll go out in joy, you'll be led into a whole and complete life. The mountains and hills will lead the parade, bursting with song. All the trees of the forest will join the procession, exuberant with applause."
Say That Again, Jesus!!
